Acupuncture is part of a mulitmodal system of Medicine which developed in Asia over two thousand years ago. It is meant to be practiced in conjunction with herbal remedies, nutrition therapy, meridian/muscle massage, therapeutic exercises, and meditations within the ideal model of health promotion developed as Asian medicine. Acupuncture therapy works by stimulating the energy points along the skin which are part of the pathways or meridians. We can adjust and stimulate your body's healing energy to improve the health of your inner or outer body; organ function within the interior of the body or muskuloskeletal, more exterior conditions.
Please feel free to stop by the office and sit on our couch, have a cup of tea with relaxing music in the backround, and look at our books and pictures if you are interested in exploring the idea of Acupuncture further for yourself. There is no pressure here.
We use microslim super polished disposable presterilized needles of the highest quality to maximize the benefit and render a good stimulus without causing pain. As part of your treatment we frequently warm the acupuncture points with a pleasant stick of herb called moxa which often makes people relax and take a light snooze or have deep and healing meditations on the table.
For people who are too anxious or sensitive about Acupuncture needles we offer magnets as an alternative which are also very beneficial and effective on the Acupuncture points. The use of magnets on Acupoints is still considered Acupuncture treatment so do not allow a fear of needles to prevent you from benefiting.
