Health Promotion

Oriental Medicine and Nursing Science are all deeply concerned with health promotion and wholistic health maintenance. Chiropractic theory is based on the same principles of balance and optimum functioning. Whole person health principles are the moving and guiding force in our practice at AcuHealth of Worcester.

Your health is a precious asset and it affects all areas of your life. Without health it is more challenging to experience other wonderful things about our lives or to cope with difficulties effectively. Therefore, whenever possible, health is something to be maintained and promoted as essential to the quality of life. We all know this but with competing demands in our high paced and pressured lives, we often put ourselves to the back of the list. This can become a habit that endures and then the signs of deterioration begin. Putting yourself to the top of the list is a good policy for maintaining and promoting our own health. Acupuncture, Oriental Medicine, Chiropractic, and Natural Health are health promoting practices. People do not need to wait until illness comes about to have balancing treatments and use nourishing balancing herbal formulas that maximize health. It is an excellent idea to treat yourself to bodywork and supplements and practices that elevate and maximize our level of health. What's more, if we feel good we are more able to help others whom we care about. It is not selfish to care for one's own health. It is responsible and sensible.

On our own there are many things we can do to promote our own health between check ups and medical visits. Just say, Yes! Say Yes for This Moment, For this Day:

  • Having a Spiritual or Personal Philosophy that gives meaning and direction to one's Life. Choosing People Who Support Us Emotionally and Developmentally.
  • Good Nutrition and Dietary Habits; including major food groups and eating wholesome natural clean food.
  • Adequate Sleep and Rest. There are now studies indicating that Type II Diabetes may have some relationship to sleep deprivation!
  • Regular Exercise and Meditation
  • Seeking Balance. Avoiding Overindulgence in any area and substances and chemicals that are destructive to our health.

We have to pay attention to be healthy, that is for sure. You cannot sleepwalk through the experience of life and expect to vibrate with health.

"The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and the cause and prevention of disease."
