Paxton Brass:

"Paxton Brass" is a brass quartet for functions, ceremonial occasions, (church services, weddings, funerals, etc.) and also for concerts. Their repertoire includes classical music as well as show tunes and the old favorites.

Members of the band are:
Lou Borelli from Paxton on trumpet
Jeff Nahkala from Oakham on trumpet
Dick Auger from Uxbridge on trombone
Mark Lammi from Spencer on tuba


 

Lou Borelli from Paxton on trumpet:
Lou attended Berklee and graduated from Chaloff School of Music as a trumpet major. He has played with the Milford Youth Band and performed at the Newport Jazz Festival and Boston Globe Festival. He won the “best jazz trumpeter” award from Worcester Magazine a few years ago and he in one of the artists featured in The Jazz Worcester Real Book, published in 2003.


 

Jeff Nahkala from Oakham on trumpet:
Jeff started taking trumpet lessons when he was in the third grade and then took lessons from Lou Borelli starting in the seventh grade. He made all state band in high school and played in the Quabbin Community Band for many years. Jeff has played with Paxton Brass since Lou started the group in 1990.


 

Dick Auger from Uxbridge on trombone:
Dick has been the band director for the Mendon-Upton Regional School District for thirty five years. He has played trombone with the Fantasy Big Band for five years, is a past member of the New England Brass Quintet ,formerly directed by Alton Bagett, and has free lanced with many bands over the years throughout New England. Dick is also a member of Lou Borelli Octet and wrote some of the arrangements for the group.


 

Mark Lammi from Spencer on tuba:
Mark has played a variety of brass instruments in various bands and organizations since age 9, but tuba is his favorite. He had vocal training at Lowell State College under Virgil Oak and has been a soloist for twelve years at Park Congregational Church. He also has experience with opera, Worcester Chorus, and Scottish Rite (soloist/member). Mark also plays in the Jolly Kopperschmidts German Band.
