The personnel of Lou Borelli Octet has changed a little over the years. Current members are:

Lou Borelli from Paxton on trumpet, flugel horn, flute and vocals. Lou attended Berklee and graduated from Chaloff School of Music as a trumpet major. He has played with the Milford Youth Band and performed at the Newport Jazz Festival and Boston Globe Festival. He won the "Best Jazz Trumpeter" award from Worcester Magazine a few years ago and he in one of the artists featured in The Jazz Worcester Real Book, published in 2003. Lou has played in many bands throughout his life, including the Brookline Symphony Orchestra and he ran his own seven piece group "Common Good" for many years. Lou has taught instrumental music lessons in various school systems over the years, most recently at Holy Name High School in Worcester. He conducts the Wachusett Community Band, runs Lou Borelli Big Band, Mixed Grille, A Touch of Brass, Louie Lewis and the Klezmerbops, Black Sheep Jazz Band, Lou-Jan Duo and Schwarze Schafe German Band. Lou also plays solo trumpet for ceremonial occasions and plays in Jan's Marching Band, Jolly Kopperschmidts and other bands who call him to play. Lou teaches most instruments, voice and jazz improv at his home.

Bob Maloney from Sterling on drums. Bob studied drums with Alan Dawson and attended Berklee College of Music. He has played and recorded CDs with Denis Coughlin. Bob has performed in general business and small groups, including the Speakeasy Jazz Band and Mixed Grille. He is currently studying vibraphone with Ed Saindon. Bob also plays in Louie Lewis and the Klezmerbops, Schwarze Schafe German Band and Black Sheep Jazz Band.

Dave Martel from Gardner on bass. Dave is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music and is a veteran of various cruise ship work. He has worked Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Lake George and Chicago shows with "The Freddie Bell Show". Dave has played hundreds of area weddings & clubs since returning to New England. Dave also plays in Lou Borelli Big Band and Denis Coughlin's bands. He also plays for church services as well as with other bands who call him. Dave also writes some of the arrangements for Lou Borelli Octet.

David Jost from Ashland on baritone saxophone. David is the Coordinator of Fine Arts for the Westborough Public Schools. He holds a Master of Music in Education Degree from the University of Lowell (1987), and he obtained his Bachelor of Music Education from Lowell State in 1978. Most recently, he completed the Arts Leadership program at Fitchburg State College. In 1998, the Massachusetts Alliance honored Mr. Jost as the Music Teacher of the Year for the Arts. He was also honored by U.S. News and World Report as one of the top 20 innovators in the United States (December 30, 1998). He is also a recipient of the Lowell Mason Award which is presented to outstanding music educators by the Massachusetts Music Educators' Association. He remains an active member of MMEA and was the All-State Jazz Band manager for the 2004 Massachusetts All-State Conference. He currently serves as co-chair of the Administrators in Music Education and sponsors an annual fall symposium for school administrators of arts programs in our state. David plays in many bands including Lou Borelli Big Band.

Steve Wilisch from Millbury on guitar and banjo. Steve first studied guitar with Art Pruneau and attended Berklee. He later studied classical guitar with Neil Anderson and graduated from UMass Lowell with a BA in performance. Steve enjoys playing a variety of styles and also plays in Lou Borelli Big Band, Louie Lewis and the Klezmerbops and Black Sheep Jazz Band. He plays saxophone in Wachusett Community Band and Jan's Marching Band. He also plays with other bands who call him.

Peter Daley from Clinton on saxophones, clarinet and flute. Peter is a music teacher and band director. He is a multi-instrumentalist and has performed extensively throughout New England in hotels, theaters, night clubs and concert halls. Most recently of note, he performed with Al Martino's Orchestra at the DCU Center in Worcester. Peter also plays in Lou Borelli Big Band, Louie Lewis and the Klezmerbops, Black Sheep Jazz Band and Jan's Marching Band. He also free lances with other bands as time allows.

Dick Auger from Uxbridge on trombone, flute and vocals. Dick was the band director for the Mendon-Upton Regional School District for thirty five years. He plays trombone with the Fantasy Big Band, is a past member of the New England Brass Quintet and has free lanced with many bands over the years throughout New England. Dick writes some of the arrangements for Lou Borelli Octet and A Touch of Brass. Dick also plays in Lou Borelli Big Band, Louie Lewis and the Klezmerbops, Black Sheep Jazz Band, Schwarze Schafe German Band, Jan's Marching Band, A Touch of Brass and Jolly Kopperschmidts.

Janet Borelli from Paxton on piano. Janet has been an accordionist since she was old enough to hold one in her lap, having taken lessons from her father, George Lilyestrom, and then Guido Forchielli. She and Lou ran a duo called "Hi-Lites" for twenty five years in the Worcester area. She plays piano in Lou Borelli Big Band, bells in the Wachusett Community Band, glockenspiel in Jan's Marching Band and accordion in Mixed Grille, Black Sheep Jazz Band, Schwarze Schafe German Band, Louie Lewis and the Klezmerbops, Jolly Kopperschmidts and Lou-Jan Duo. She teaches accordion and piano at her home.
